29 Aug 2010 - Victorian road race titles Rd 4 2010 (News)
After a big crash on Friday i had to ride my spare bike for the remainder of the weekend as bike # 1 was to damaged to fix for the weekend. Saturday qualifying was on a damp track so i had to use the wet weather tyres. I managed to qualify 2nd on the grid. In race 1 i got a good start and had a battle with Bryce Van Hoof for the first few laps, i managed to pull a gap toward the end and won the race. In race 2 i again got a good start and pulled a gap managing to win the race, also setting a new lap record (59.7 seconds). Race 3 was the hardest race of the weekend. I only had to finish the race as i had a 23 point lead over Bryce in the championship. I got a good start and pushed for the first few laps but Ben Nicolson managed to stick with me. On the second last lap Ben passed me braking into turn 3, i stayed behind him and then on the last lap i got good drive off turn 2 and passed Ben just before we brake into turn 3, he braked deep and passed me but ran it wide on the exit, i got good acceleration off the turn and lead for the remainder of the lap and won the race.
I won the Victorian Superstock 600 championship and am pleased with the result.
